A Day Like a Thousand Years" is a popular phrase that is found in the Bible verse.

"But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord, a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day." 2 Peter 3:8.

The phrase means a lot of things which in a common man's understanding it means that time moves slowly when someone is anticipating for something. I will tell you a story, but before that, I don't know why when someone is passing through difficulties in life a day is like a thousand years for that person, but during the moment of happiness a thousand years is like a day for that person.

This is a true life story. At the beginning of August, I have been praying and wishing for the 25th of August to come because it is the day that I will be celebrating my birthday which has been like a thousand years for me. The day which I have been praying for to come is no longer a thousand years for me again, it is now a day that I am now praying to be shifted to the next week because of all that I have planned for I haven't gotten them yet.

A day which I have seen like a thousand years to come is now a day which I am beginning to see like a day. Sometimes times like we plan too big ahead of something, just I have been planning to celebrate my birthday which is tomorrow I have nothing to show off for tomorrow so I look up to God.

A day can be like a thousand years for us if we are going through a lot in life, but a thousand years can be like a day for us if we are not going through a lot in life. Just like someone who is to spend 6 months receiving military training, the person would always see a day like a thousand years to come, because of what the person would be passing throughout his or her 6 months of training.
