A successful marriage is a couple that has passed through the test of time, surmounted hurdles together as a team and are still determined to face the future together despite the challenges. A formidable pair that has navigated life's ups and downs, and their bonds have grown stronger with each triumph and tribulation.

What do you think makes a marriage successful?

The best advice on how to use a product or service is from its manufacturers or service provider. right!
Will it not just be fair to use the same logic when looking for the key to a successful marriage?

If you are of the belief that marriage was instituted by a higher power, then look to him for guidance and direction.

Only the creator knows what his product was intended to be used for and can provide a reliable manual and customer care services alongside product update/upgrade.

Though these texts are religious teachings, they also offer practical wisdom and guidance for building up a strong and fulfilling marriage.

How can couples improve communication in their marriage?

Improved communication in a marriage can be a real game changer for the better. And the who'll process will start with becoming good at listening to what the other person has to say. Don't just listen, let your spouse know that you are listening. You can do so by summarising to make sure you got the point. Avoid being buried in your phone when your spouse is talking.
Avoid assuming you know what your spouse is having in mind when they have not said it. Instead, try to have the speak their mind.
Do not use innuendo when communicating your intentions or simply speaking into the air hoping that your mate will get the message.
Effective communication is a skill that needs practice, patience and commitment to master. With effective communication in a marriage, half of the problems are already sold.

Discuss the importance of trust in a marriage.

Trust is the foundation for having a sense of security and stability in a marriage, allowing partners to feel at rest. It is a component that is built over time by constant act of honesty and loyalty but can easily get damaged by a single thoughtless act. Once trust is damaged, it is even harder to rebuild it. So protect the trust you have.

Trust makes sure the energy of a marriage is not sapped by suspension. Which can also kill the joy that comes from being trusted.
The couples energy is concentrated on the growth and developmentof the relationship.

How do couples navigate conflicts in a healthy way?

You can not totally avoid conflicts in your marriage so make it your resolve as a couple, that you will endeavour to tackle the problem and not your spouse, address the issue as fast as possible, not allowing issues to pile up into problems.
Find the right time, place and atmosphere to resolve conflicts. Listen when your spouse is speaking and do not snipe at some selected points.
Do not assume motives. Be ready to forgive and move on with your spouse, leaving the issue behind.
The point is not to try avoiding all conflicts, but to make sure you resolve them in a way that they become a stepping stone for a stronger relationship.

Do you consider distance between spouses and cultural differences a problem in marriage? Why?

With distance and time between a couple, the can gradually become emotionally separated, creating an emotional disconnection between them.
A difference in background can result in cultural norms that clash, their expectation may be too different across the cultural gap between them. None verbal communication may be interpreted differently thus resulting in misunderstanding.
