Greetings to my fellow steemians in this community, I hope y'all are doing just well because I'm doing great over here.
So I'll be deliberating on how to prepare the Nigerian bitter leaf soup and the necessary ingredients you all need to prepare this delicious delicacy.
The food is a very popular dish among most Nigerians and it's being prepared by people in different ways of their choices and how they were taught on how to prepare it. But I'll just show you guys the way I prepare mine and a easy way to prepare the dish.
All you need at your cooking utensils, the leaves and the condiments you need to prepare the soup.

Ingredients

Bitter leaf
Water leaf
Grounded melon
Palm oil
Fresh fish or dry fish
Stockfish
Pepper, salt, maggi(seasoning cubes)
Crayfish
Periwinkles
Water

preparing the bitter leaf and water leaf

  1. Carefully cut the bitter leaves
  2. Wash and squeeze them till there is no bitterness left (Taste to confirm), but if you prefer having a little bitter taste in it, you can decide to squeeze a bit and remain a little bitter taste in it.
  3. Wash the fresh water leaves thoroughly with clean water. Change the water until the leaves are perfectly clean.

preparing and steaming the meat and fish

  1. Wash the meat and fish with clean water
Note: before steaming the meat and fish you must have copped your onions, pepper and also the fresh water leaves to prevent any form of delay when cooking starts.
  2. Put the meat, fish, stockfish, maggi, salt, pepper and some chopped onions in the pot to steam.
  3. Allow to steam for some time, then add water to it and stir, ensure that the ingredients have mixed thoroughly.
