Today I am writing about the corona virus.

The World Health Organization has declared the coronavirus, codenamed Covid-19, a global pandemic. The virus - previously unknown to scientists - has already caused severe lung disease in many people in China and has already spread to most countries around the world.

Coronavirus

The coronavirus is an infectious virus – one that has never been transmitted to humans before. This virus has already spread to more than 150 countries around the world, and more than 7 thousand people have died worldwide. Another name of the virus is 2019 – NCOV or novel coronavirus. It is a type of coronavirus. There are many different types of coronavirus, but only six of them can infect humans. However, due to the new type of virus, that number will now be seven.

Since 2002, the SARS virus (full name Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome) spread in epidemic form in China has killed 774 people and infected 8098 people in the world. That too was a type of coronavirus. The new disease was initially called by various names, such as: 'China virus', 'coronavirus', '2019 NCoV', 'new virus', 'mystery virus' etc. In the second week of February this year, the World Health Organization officially named the disease as Covid-19, which is an acronym for 'Coronavirus Disease 2019'.

Symptoms

The symptoms of the corona virus are given below-

• Fever, cough, sore throat, breathing problems are the main symptoms.

• It attacks the lungs.

• Symptoms usually begin with a dry cough and fever, followed by difficulty breathing.

• It usually takes an average of five days for symptoms to appear.

Prevention

To prevent the risk of coronavirus infection, we request you to follow the following rules strictly:

• When entering home or office, everyone must clean both hands thoroughly with hand sanitizer for 30 seconds.

• Use a tissue or handkerchief while sneezing and throw the used tissue into a dustbin with a lid and clean both hands with soapy water or hand sanitizer for 30 seconds.

• Where one should not spit or expectorate and one should not touch the nose, mouth and eyes with unclean hands.

• Frequently wash both hands with soapy water for 30 seconds. In addition, hands should be washed with soap and water for 30 seconds after sneezing, coughing, using the toilet, before and after eating and preparing food, after coming in contact with animals, and if hands are unclean.

• Mask should be worn when sneezing, coughing or in crowded places. Wear the mask in such a way that it covers the nose and mouth well.

• Avoid holding the mask with your hands when using, open the mask from the back side when opening. After one use, wash the mask with soapy water and use again.

• Avoid shaking hands/handshakes or hugs as much as possible.

• Maintain a distance of 3 feet from anyone who is sneezing, coughing or has a fever.

• Those who prepare or serve food must wash both hands thoroughly with soap and water before and after preparing food.

• Fish, meat and eggs should be washed well, cooked well and should be eaten and contact with sick animals should be avoided.
