Today I'm happy to participate in this contest as this topic is one of my favorite topics I thought of sharing my ideas with you. I will share a common but a different recipe with you. This is a food that you can eat with rice or bread. "Kankung" is the recipe that I'm going to share with you.
In Srilanka kankung is served with rice. This Kankung can be made in different recipes. We can add fry fish, tomatoes, prawns or eggs without cooking kankung alone. But some people like kankung to cook alone. And I must ay kankung is grown in all climates so it is easy to grow in your country. Even in our home garden we have kankung bed. In the super markets kankung is available and t is cheap in price.
When talking about myself I love Kankung by adding dry fish. But today I thought of sharing the kankung recipe with you as I needed to share the basic recipe with you. So let me show you how I make the recipe.
Ingredients
- Kankung
- Green chilies
- Oil
- Chili fakes
- Onions
- Turmeric
- Salt

First I cut all ingredients after washing them properly. Then First I add some oil to a pot and when the oil is heating I added the onions, green chilies and let it fry well.

When the onions are golden colour we can add kankung to the pot. After that we can stir it well and take out of the stove. If you are willing to add some dry fish, prawns, tomatoes or eggs to the curry you have to add them before adding kankung and let it cook for about 4 minutes till everything gets fried well.
Here is the final look of my Kankung Recipe. I invite all my friends to try this at home and taste this with rice. There are friends here whose staple food is not rice, so I suggest them to taste this kankung recipe one day with rice and I'm sure you will addict to it.

Yes, I have also heard of this food and I also know that this food can be eaten with rice or bread. "Kankung" is a very tasty dish in your country Sri Lanka. I want to eat it whenever I go to Sri Lanka.
But in Sri Lanka I think kankung is mostly served with rice, what do you say? But kankung food with fried fish, tomatoes, prawns or eggs has its own taste. Glad to hear from you that kankung is grown in all seasons. Will we grow it in Pakistan? Tell me.

In Venezuela we know it as spinach, and it is also used in the preparation of many dishes.

The kankung really looks appetising . What I love about this dish is that it looks simple and easy to prepare but it will definitely have a whole lot of nutrients.
Apart from the kankung itself as an ingredient the rest of the ingredients will not be hard to find where I stay.
