Hello Friends, |

The Steem4Nigeria community have done a great job to have organised this contest titled If I Were To Be A Curator hosted by @simonnwigwe.
I must commend that this contest is really interesting and will surely be an impactful one, as it will help aspiring curators to pick out some points for their noble desires in the nearest future.
The questions asked here will cover all the necessary areas of concern, and I would be answering them accordingly.
What I Understand By The Word Curation |
---|
In a recent database class, I was made to understand that Curation refers to the act of maintaining and carrying out manual updates on a database. It later made more sense to me, as I got to understand that Curation as regards to Steemit is the act of updating (giving upvotes) and adding more values to an article in the steem blockchain.
This curation can be done by clicking the green button in the screenshot above, and setting a desired percent of your vote to the article.
To be able to get this upvote(curation), you must use your brain to construct and and produce a post of high quality and originality, thereby convincing the curators that your post deserves voting rewards. This is the idea behind the Proof-of-Brain algorithm, and the voted posts get rewarded with STEEM token from the reward pool.
To get more understanding on how the steem blockchain curation and voting window works, you can check out a post I did concerning it here
My Favourite Curation Team For November |
---|
The Steemit team really did a good job in choosing and allocating competent and qualified steemians to control the various curation accounts for the month of November.
All the team members have been working very hard and consistently to the best of their abilities to reward quality and original articles and publications. Nevertheless, I still have my favourite curation team which is the the TEAM 3 in charge of the Steemcurator06 Account with about 600,288.44 Effective Steem Power as at the time of writing this post.
I have observed that the member of this team search through possible tags, to sort for original and quality articles posted in the Steemit platform. Their consistent work in voting could be seen in their steemworld Analysis. As at the time of writing this post, they had thier Voting CSI was at 17.0, with over 163 upvotes in the past 7 days.
One of the things I equally observed about the team 3 members is that they equally uses their various personal accounts to support and vote other members of the platform. I visited their accounts through the steemworld.org, and I was able to see the number of upvotes they had made in the past 7 days.
Team 3 Members Personal CSI At The Time Of Writing This.
Username | Country | Upvotes(last 7 days |
---|---|---|
cryptogecko | India | CSI 22.4, with 195 upvotes, 160 accounts |
ngoenyi | Nigeria | CSI 8.1, with 126 upvotes, 88 accounts |
msharif | Bangladesh | CSI 14.8, with 107 upvotes, 78 accounts |
damithudaya | Sri Lanka | CSI 14.1, with 195 upvotes, 93 accounts |
graceleon | Argentina | CSI 20.6, with 145 upvotes, 94 accounts, |
harferri | Indonesia | CSI 10.6, with 119 upvotes, 78 accounts |
.wilmer1988 | Venezuela | CSI 20.0, with 250 upvotes, 144 accounts.) |
You can see that the team members are not idle, they are working tirelessly to curate and support quality and original posts, which makes me love them even more.
What I Would Do If I Were In Any Of These Curation Team |
---|
I would focus on Quality rather than Popularity. Yes, it is important to support hardwork by voting on excellent and impactful articles regardless of the user's status in the platform.
Some users spend lots of time to make researches and produce important facts and points about a topic or concept that are of uppermost importance to to other individuals. I would try to support and appreciate such users, even if he/she is new and unexperienced user.
You would agree with me that the Steemit platform is blessed with highly educated and creative users, who are willing to equally share their knowledge with fellow users. I would encourage such users to keep up with the good work by supporting them with the curation account and even more. This would further promote more quality articles on the platform, and more people would become even more creative and improve in their tasks.
Do I Consider My Articles To Be Of Quality |
---|
Yes, I consider my posts to be of quality, given the fact that I don't just make posts in a haste. I usually take my time and go through all the possible details required of the topic or concept am to write about. In most cases, it takes me around 2 days to complete a post for my lovely readers.
I always have this mentally of "what would my readers gain from this article am writing," and with this in mind, I try my best to get every necessarily details including historical facts and images which could be of interest to my readers.
I usually don't care how long it would take me, my aim is focused at impacting excellence, and knowledge to my dear readers, and this has helped me in growing that way.
Are SC01 and SC02 Partial Or Just In Curating Articles |
---|
I must commend that they are just in their acts of curation, as I have witnessed them giving surprise votes to post that are of high qualities and originality. I have seen countless cases where SC01 and SC02 gave votes to post that weren't even nominated or selected as winners of special tasks/contest.
This goes as far as showing that they normally vote on quality posts that meets thier standard, regardless of whether or not their post were selected. A good example could be seen in the articles of a good friend of mine (Sahmie), who usually writes outstanding and interesting articles. He kept improving and was noticed by SC01 who supported and even followed him.
It was really a big win for quality and originality, and it goes as far as showing that the Steemcurators are just in their acts, we just need to improve ourselves to achieve bigger.
