Video Tape was the latest during it's time, my parent's wedding video tape is still available till date but we can no longer watch it like we used to years ago.

(b). VCD Player

VCD Player was replaced by DVD players, and as time goes on the advent of decoders like DSTV, Strong, Gotv etc made the former to be abandoned.

(c). Cassette Tape

The interesting thing I can remember I use to love about this tape is how that my father will put a note inside the tape and give us to rewind or forward it manually, it is so memorable.

(d). TV

Is the value of currency used in your country appreciating or depreciating?

The currency in my country is known as Naira. Naira for years kept depreciating. Historically, Naira as my countries currency has one time being equal with US Dollar, but today it is not so. A Dollar in the black market current exchange rate is about #1,500 to #1,600.

Deliberate on the prices of 5 commodities in your country 10 years back and now.

The fall of my country's currency value has necessitate the rise or increase in the price of commodities. The price of every commodity in my country has multiplied to almost 5 times due to the currencies depreciation value. Things are becoming alarming in the market today. Below is the price difference 10 years back and the current price of goods in my country. Things are no longer the way they use to be 10 years ago.

Price of Commodities in 2014 and 2024 compaired

  1. 2014, Eggs was #15 to #20 but now #100 to #130

  2. 2014; Petroleum was #97 per litre while the current retail pump price today is #680 per litre.

  3. 2014; 1 bag of Cement was about #2,000 to #2,200 while now is #11,000 to #12,500 in the market.

  4. Rice: in 2014, 50kg was 10,000 while today in 2024 Rice is about #60, 000 for 50kg.

  5. 2014 Indomie Super pack was #60 or #70 per one pack while now is #500 per pack.

Has these changes affected you? If yes, how. If no, tell us your secrets

Yes of course! My purchasing power is very very poor now due to the increase in price of goods. To pay children's school fees is very difficult because people are struggling to survive. Food, clothing and other basic needs are number one priority before any other thing. I am hoping to earn on steemit platform to add up to my monthly salary in other to gain releaf cos my monthly salary is not sufficient enough anymore.

I will like to invite my friends, @ruthjoe, @josepha and @samuelernest to join this contest.
