Have you or someone close to you experienced life in a boarding school? Would you like to share the experience?

I stayed in boarding school from J.S.S 1to S.S 3. Infact all my siblings went to boarding school. They're so many unique things I experienced in the Boarding school they include.

Time conscious
One unique thing about any boarding school is that you must be time conscious if not be ready to be punished all the time. While I was at the boarding school, the school regulator rings the rising bell by 4.45am and this is the time that sleep is usually sweet. By 5.00am you will hear another bell which signifies bathing.

Infact in the boarding school, we live by the bell, every bell ring signifies a specific thing in the school we have the rising bell, dinning bell, alarm bell e.t.c and if you come late to any function, you will be punished. The unique thing about this is that it makes you agile and time conscious.

Being Respectful
In the boarding school, respect and obedience is a golden rule. If you feel you're stubborn and disrespectful you will calm down because you will meet so many seniors that will treat your fuck up.

Independent
Another thing that boarding school taught me was living an independent life. You will have to take responsibility for any action you take. You will learn how to live without your family and also make decisions without them.

Management
You will have to be a good manager in other to survive in the boarding school, especially during exam period when everyone has exhausted their savings and provision. You will have to manage and save in order to survive because the food they usually serve students are very small.

Small quantity of food
Food served in the boarding school are usually very small and most times tasteless, you have to supplement it with provision.

Morning Routines
Everyone has a morning routine assigned to them, these routine ranges from cleaning the hostel, washing the toilets and bathrooms, disposing waste bin. Failure to do your morning duty attracts punishment.

Night class
This night class usually starts from 8.00pm and ends by 10.00pm, the students are meant to read during this period.

Visiting day
This is a day when parents are allowed to come visit their children. Parents are allowed to bring food and other edibles for their children. On this particular day, the school cooks small quantity of food because they know that parents will bring food for their children.

Will you love to send your kids to a boarding school? Please give your reasons.

Yes I would love to send my children to boarding school because it will help my children to be independent, good managers, time conscious and also help them to interact and socialize with people from all walks of life.

What have been the experience trying to relate, to bond or to adjust a kid after spending years in a boarding facility.

In my own case, I didn't have an issue adapting to life at home because I usually go home during holidays and mid-term breaks.

Do boarding school really produce people who are ready and able to cope with the reality of life without the traditional parental guidance?

Yes, Boarding school is a home away from home. In boarding school, each hostel is assigned to a matron and hostel prefect who takes care of students.

Can the discipline obtained from such institution equal that of the parents at home? What can't be learnt in a boarding facility? Do you think they are missing out of any important aspect of their development?

Most times, boarding school disciplines a child more than the parents. They're also certain things one can't learn from the boarding school they include.

Attention and love
Parents pay attention and show love to their children more at home than in school. No one has your time in boarding school.

Culture and Values.
You meet people from different cultural backgrounds in the boarding school thereby making it almost impossible to learn your culture but you learn those things at home.
