Greetings dear friends, it's another week to share my entry in this amazing contest organized by @lhorgic which talks about If you were allowed to become a moderator, which community would choose. It is a wonderful contest and I would like to share my entry.

• What do you understand about the role of a Moderator?

In my understanding and experience, the role of a moderator is basically, to check review articles in the community, guide users both new and old, and also support the community in whichever way possible to ensure that the community grows.

So as a moderator, you see the community as yours and for that reason, you must do everything possible to ensure the growth of the community. Timely reviewing of the article is not enough, you must also try to drop valuable comments and feedback on the of those you are reviewing.

So every moderator has the role of assisting users' growth by suggesting how they can improve their write-up, encouraging them to continue powering up, and also suggesting to them how they can properly present their articles. So this and many more are the roles of a moderator.

• If you were allowed to choose any community of your choice for this role, what community would it be...and why?

There are only two communities in which I would like to work with as a moderator and these communities include the Steem Kids & parent community and the Steem4nigeria community. Now the reasons for my choice are not far-fetched and I will discuss it below.

Steem Kids & parent community and the Steem4nigeria community are two famous communities here in Nigeria and for that reason, I will want to contribute my quota to ensure that there is growth in this community since it is owned by our people.

Also, it is easier to have a conversation with people who understand you better because you all are in the same country than those who don't know the exact situation you may be passing because of the distance barrier. So this and many more reasons is why I want to work with these communities.

• What would be your input as an incoming Moderator of that community of your choice?

As someone coming into the community as a new moderator, I will observe and see what needs to be improved and possibly if there is anything that is not already in existence within the group and then bring it on board.

I can decide to come up with a weekly review contest of what people think about the community and what improvement they want in the community. If they provide these answers regularly I will read and know where the major lapses are and then put into action all strategies necessary to fix them.

Finally, I wish to invite my friends @dove11, @solaymann, and @josepha to also join this contest today and share their own opinions about this wonderful topic.

MODs Comment/Recommendation:

You've articulated the role of a moderator very well. It's indeed crucial for moderators to actively engage with the community, not just by reviewing content but also by providing constructive feedback and guidance to users. This not only helps individual writers improve their skills but also fosters a supportive environment that encourages growth and collaboration. By seeing the community as a shared space, moderators can make a significant impact on its overall development. Your insights highlight the importance of being proactive and invested in the community's success.
