INTRODUCTION

Good day everyone. Trust you are great. Today I will be discussing on projects management. And this encompasses a lot of things ranging from the scope of project to the budget and the scheduling. I know this topic will interest each and everyone of us because we all are directly or indirectly engaging in one project or the other. Without wasting time come with me let’s look at it in details on how to become a good project manager.

Meaning of project

A project is a conceptual plan by an individual or group of persons who plan to achieve a particular objective. Project has different phases before it final completion. The first phase of a project start with the owner through coordination of design and construction to the completion stage.

Component of project

Project has three major components and the first component is:

The Scope

The owner have to clearly define what he want. It maybe house, school, church and even other infrastructure like road, electricity and water. Having clearly spelled out what he want to embark on, he the consider what that would involve.

The budget.

Budget is very important in every project because it has to do with the amount of money the owner will spend to execute the project. This includes all the materials, equipment and man power needed for the work to be completed

Schedule

This is very important as it has to do with the people, resources, timing and the methods of performing each stages of the work to achieve the quality and also the budgeting cost of the project and to complete within the stipulated time.

Responsibilities of the project execution parties

Project can not be executed by just one person. It is a team work. The owner have his own part to play in stating out the scope of what he want. The owner employ the project manager to work for the project and it is the responsibility of the project manager to schedule the work to meet up with the owners design, quality, budget and time. After the completion of work the project manager then handover the project to the owner.

Conclusion

It is very important to consider team work as paramount in executing projects as everyone roles are necessary to achieve a quality and timely delivery of any projects. And one need the clearly defined his scope of project and alsoconsider his budget before contracting the third party for effective delivery.
