What I Believed Versus the Real Picture

We all have believed in some things at a certain stage of our lives, it might be a result of how we were being taught to instill some kind of decency in us such that we don't go astray or something we had believed in without any third party involvement in such belief we had. Only to realize after a long time or years that the real picture is way too different from the belief.

What do you think of the cultural lessons you have been taught when you were still a kid? Some turned out to be fables which we laughed at when we eventually got to know the true picture of such lessons. And even a practice you believed to be true, unknowingly, it's the opposite. This is where our contest leads us for the week. What are those beliefs? Let's hear them.

• What have you believed in for a long time only to discover it's untrue later? (It can be more than one).

• Is there anyone or body attributed to that belief? And how did you get to know the true picture?

• What was your reaction when you finally understand the truth of the matter? Has the old belief affected you in any way (good or bad) or was any lesson learned in the process?

• Do you think you can easily believe something similar to that in the future?

Conclusion

Many beliefs are not always genuine but we don't realize it as such they remain a part of us until we could finally see the truth in the future. In most cases, the results are positive as you only laugh at yourself for believing in such for a long time while the result is otherwise in some cases. We look forward to your entries.
