Good day everyone, it's another beautiful day, trust everyone is doing great. It's a story day, and the title of my story today is Not All that Glitters is Gold, Be Careful About What You Wish For. I will be sharing with you all a story of a successful man which many look up to or pray to be like.

Note: This is a true life story except for the change of name and city.

Akanmu is a young man in his early thirties born by a farmer in a small city called H city. His father was a small-scale farmer and a hunter which can only provide the basic needs such as feeding, clothing, and shelter for his children, he is the type of father that doesn't value education, he doesn't advise nor mandate education on his children, though he usually sponsor any of his children that wanted to be educated till they complete secondary education, only one of his children has tertiary education because the boy was able to hustle, and sponsored himself.

Akanmu is the third child of the 8 children from his father, Akanmu was a brilliant student that he's always at the top of his class but suddenly he forgo education when he was in Junior Secondary school class, he joined his father in farming and also learned how to repair a punctured or deflated tyre known as vulcanizing. Vulcanizers are the ones who pump rubber/tyres to improve its strength and resiliency.

He opened his shop after a year of learning, and he was doing well for himself, he later stopped farming and became one of the community securities, guarding the community at night, he got married, have kids, and was living very fine. Years after working as a vulcanizer and security, he built two houses, own a tipper, bus, and bikes that he gave to people to generate more income for him daily.

He is a humble man that respect and cares for everyone and whenever he hears about a deceased person in the community, he would sympathize with them and follow them to the cemetery, and sometimes offer help in digging the grave. Many people look up to him and want to be like him both in character and success.

Everything was going well for him until one day that he was caught with a human body part (the head) and was arrested. Then he confessed that he had been in this business for 6 years, that he do sell the body parts of the dead to some fake prophets and that was where he got the money that made him successful.

The human head caught in his possession was the head of a young lady that died in the community 3 days before the incident, as Akanmu's usual act, he followed the family of the deceased to a popular cemetery where the body was laid to rest, 3 days after he went back to dig the grave and cut the deceased head to sell it to a fake prophet that needs it for their rituals. He was arrested with some of his accomplices and charged to court.

Those that do wish to be like him were disappointed because they did not know that he became successful by doing a bad thing.

Moral Lesson

Be careful what you wish for because not all that glitters is gold and what we are seeing may be different from what it is, stop praying or wishing to be another person because we don't know what the person is capable of doing or how he gets his wealth. Some people are an angel on the surface but a beast inside.

Don't be frustrated because you see people living large without any hard work while your hard work seems not paying. Pray that God's plan for your life should come to pass, have a fear of God, let your conscience be at work, be patient and work hard with all honesty without going through shortcuts to be successful.

The plan of God for everyone is good and not evil, don't destroy your great future, and God plans for you because of the love for money.

Conclusion

Akanmu was a brilliant guy but instead of being patience and work hard to become successful, he went into a brutal and bad thing thinking his secret was safe, he forgot that nothing stays a secret forever, and he destroyed his life and reputation. Thank you all for reading.

This is such a wonderful and teaching story, I am very pleased you shared it with us.

Be careful what you wish for

Most people just keep wishing for things they don't even have need of. Tend to forget that our needs and wants are two different things.

Yes o, some people wish to have things they do not have an understanding about what it is, they just saw it and feel like owning it too.

An example is a boy that saw another boy using the inhaler, to him he thought it was for fun and to make his mouth smell nice, and he also wants to own one so that his mouth can smell good too.

Lol 😆 .. As funny as this statement sounded, it is very true..

Ummmh this is quite a sensitive story, I bet Akanmu thought he had escape what should Have befall him.

That is it, he never thought he could get caught, he forgets that every day for the thieves but a day is for the owner, imagine getting caught after 6 years in the wicked act.

stop praying or wishing to be another person because we don't know what the person is capable of doing or how he gets his wealth
