Un placer estar en otra edición en la comunidad y esta vez hablando del mundo gastronómico de cada país, como saben Venezuela posee una extensa sazón y comidas típicas, cada una más deliciosa que la otra, sin embargo esta vez voy a preparar una receta que es muy común y famosa en desayunos y cenas en los hogares venezolanos.
Llamadas empanadas, es una receta famosa en Venezuela, ya que es hecha con harina de maíz y su manera de cocinarse es fritas, llevan diversos rellenos pero en mi caso las haré de caraotas negras y queso blanco, los cuales son muy populares y también denominadas Empanadas de domino en honor al juego tradicional que se basa en piezas de color blancas con puntos negros.
Hace tiempo que leí que el nombre de Empanada viene del castellano Empanar y que su origen proviene de aquellos pastores que llevaban al campo panes rellenos de vegetales, de allí el tiempo fue pasando hasta llegar a un punto donde el pan se cocinaba y dio paso a la creación de otros platos como los calzones italianos o las gallegas.
Las empanadas en Venezuela son un legado de la conquista y colonizadores españoles.
Siendo honesta no, normalmente es una costumbre prepararlas en la semana, a veces me sobran caraotas, carne y por su elaboración sencilla aprovecho de hacerla para alguna cena preferiblemente.
A continuación mostrare los pasos para elaborar empanadas de caraotas con queso:
Ante todo necesitamos:
- Harina de maíz
- Harina de trigo todo uso
- Aceite
- Caraotas fritas
- Queso blanco
- Sal
-Primero mezclamos el agua, sal y la harina, luego agregamos harina de trigo, con el fin de hacerla más crocante, amasamos hasta obtener una masa moldeable, rallamos el queso en un plato y buscamos una bolsita limpia que servirá de molde para darle forma a las empanadas.
-Formamos unas bolitas de masa y estiramos en la bolsita hasta obtener una masa aplanada circularmente. Agregamos una cucharada de caraotas de forma distribuida y luego un poco de queso. Nos traemos una de las caras de la masa, hasta crear una media luna. Usando un envase creamos la marca de empanadas, cortando y creando exceso que sirve para otra empanada.
-En el sarten previamente caliente agregamos la empanada con cuidado y dejamos cocinar una cara primero, volteamos al ratito y dejamos cocinar por ambas caras hasta estar doradas y cocinadas.
De esta forma obtuve dos ricas empanadas.
Es un alimento delicioso pero como es una fritura debemos comerlo con cierto tiempo de diferencia no tan regular, así cuidarnos de colesterol alto o trigliceridos. Es importante usar aceites en buen estado, de maíz es recomendable y por ultimo utilizar queso duro para así rallar.
