Drug and Drug abuse

This is one of the matters affecting the society and i would love to teach about the definition, effects and so on.

First of all we need to know the meaning of drugs.

What is drug and abuse?

Drug is defined as any substance that is used to prevent, diagnose treat or relieve symptoms of diseases.

Abuse means to use something to bad effect or for a bad purpose.

What is drug abuse?

This is the illegal use of drugs over the prescription of a medical personnel for other purposes than what they are meant to be used for.
It can also be refered to as the use of some chemicals for pleasurable effects on the brain.

Methods of drug abuse

• Swallowing: This is the most common method of drug abuse. Of all methods of drug abuse, this is considered to be the safest because it allows the body system to first of all process it, then if it is not good, there will be vomiting from the person.

• Smoking: Drug abusers Who use this method, have the drug easily transferred into their blood stream, which is very dangerous for health.

• Injecting

Causes of drug use

• One way is through peer pressure from friends and playmates who do the same thing, that's why we should be careful of the friends we associate with.

• Most people abuse drugs because of stress, thinking it will relieve them of the problems they face, well this is a lie, because this only endangers their health.

• As a result of low self-esteem, teenagers feel that drug abuse is a way of being cool and it affects them.

Effects of drug abuse

• Change in physical appearance.
• Hormonal imbalance
• Depression
• Irritability
• Anxiety
  And many more symptoms.
