Hello friends it is good to be back, especially during this engagement challenge season. And i would love to participate in this graphic contest hosted by @lhorgic. When i read the challenge i could not wait to try out the home fun, and due to that i make this post to submit my home takeaway. Today we focus on another aspect of communication thanks to the computer. And that is called ** Graphic Design **.

What is Graphic Design? Briefly Share with me your understanding about graphic design.

Graphic design can be defined as a method of visible interaction. In otherwise graphic designs can be used for communicational purposes. It can be made possible through the use of visible materials like colors, shades, lines, shapes and many others.

There are various aspects in which designs are used, they can be used for posters, road signs, wallpapers, fliers and many others. In turn those materials are use for advertising a company or just for information on which area or location a certain place is.

Graphic design is a little easier, because i have had experience on designing images. It just requires one's best, and then what comes out will be so beautiful. It requires thinking and creativity of a human mind to be able to make a graphic image.

Pick any three of the principles of Graphic design and talk about them based on your level of understanding.

For the first principle i want to talk about contrast.

  1. Contrast: Contrast is located when there are two different designs or rival designs. This principle has to do with placing the two different designs together in a way that a person can be able to visibly point out the distinction between the two designs.

Contrast and Emphasis can be mistaken for each other, but the difference is this, Emphasis is an aspect that makes one material stand out and look different from the others while contrast has to do with making all elements stand out but still trying to point out the differences.

  1. Emphasis: Emphasis has to do with highlighting the importance of a specific element in an artwork or an image. It makes sure that a customer can clearly see the difference of that element to the other.

  2. Harmony : Harmony has to do with using various that are allying or look good, to create a view that is good to the eye, which pleases the customer. This is used so that the customer seeing the artwork or an observer can know that the elements that are used are members of each other.

And finally the main task

Practically show us how to make the graphical image below.

  1. I started by opening up the canva app, and then i went to the + icon and selected the instagram post which it's size and dimension1080×1080. Once i selected it it gave way for working sheet.

  1. Then i quickly located the color icon in other to change the background color of my working sheet. As you can see below i changed the background colour to black from plain white.

  1. Then when i was done i clicked the element section and then various shapes and lines came out, then i quickly saw the circle shape and clicked on it. As you can see in the picture below.

  1. Then i clicked the copy icon and duplicated it 3 more times, to make it four and then i arranged it by dragging it so that it could look good.

  1. When i was done i clicked on the circle in the top right hand corner and then selected colour, and changed it to yellow, when i was done it came out beautiful though not perfect but manageable.

I've been using Canva app for some months now, but I've never tried using it for graphics like this. Indeed, I've learnt a lot from this post, during my free time I'll try it out and see the outcome. Nice post wisdom, and thanks for inviting me.

Hello @wizzyboy3 thank you for participating in this week's lesson. We have assessed your entry and we present the result of our assessment below.

Feedback:

• You have clearly defined Graphic design the way you best understand it, and I appreciate the remarkable effort you put into your definition of concept.

• Your selection on the principles of design is nice coupled with your comprehensive explanation. Including the correct visual representation of these principle would have been an added advantage. All the same, It's quite commendable.

• Finally, your practical is quite detailed but then, you didn't use your mark up tool to highlight areas you touched while working on this practical. Weldon, you did a good job and I commend you for it. I hope you keep up with the energy level.
