The Facts about Technological Advancement and Globalization

Hello friends, it is another pleasant day here to share with us some distinctive diaries but at this time something technological. The world had witnessed great technological advancements and hence humans created this to help make life a lot easier. Human does not need to work out their lives to get the task executed hence the technology with us.

The facts about Globalization and technological advancement are that they are already here with us and the effects are also greatly skewed. It has caused a lot of labor burden in society as many keep learning and unlearning skills to fit into this revolutionary trend. This new development came with a cost that we have to live with and follow as it keeps mutating.

Since the year 1965, there has been an improvement in computer processing power which doubled every two years. In the same vein, a study from Oxford University predicted 47% of American jobs are at risk of being replaced by technologies in the next 20 years. This is over 70 million people in view and at the same time globalization is also affecting high-skilled jobs in ways that it never has before

Unfortunately, no sector is left behind in this as it cut across all human tasks. When bronze tool sales were invented, those in the stone tool sales all lost their jobs and when steel tool sales came on board, those in the bronze tool sales also suffered the same fate as those in the stone tool sales. When the industrial revolution came, this was quite devastating for job owners. And these job losses have continued as the world continues to advance.

Despite some of the visible and immediate shortcomings this has brought us, it has made the world a global village. The world has indeed witnessed several changes in the past years due to breakthroughs in technological advancement. No doubt as they are obvious like the invention of robots and radio frequency identification computing and high-speed internet and networking.

Companies now find it much easier to move jobs around the world with labor wages a bit lowered and regulations less stringent. Most of these company jobs are executed remotely which is more affordable vis-a-vis when they are executed face-to-face.

In the past 20 years, Americans are worse hit as these two forces (technology & globalization) have removed millions of jobs physically from their domains. Manufacturing jobs and textile mills where automation and robotics have advanced over time are greatly affected. Humans now compete with machine automation as several jobs are no longer tenable to humans.

The funny thing here is that all sectors of the economy are affected. Highly skilled jobs are also at risk as robots can now be seen performing scans and biopsies, also help deliver low-level anesthesia, and even doing surgical procedures with perfection and accuracy.

What about our automobiles, the driverless cars already seen on the public road? We can now imagine the millions of truck drivers, bus drivers, and also taxi drivers who may soon be replaced by these technologies.

In restaurants, hundreds of thousands of cooks may likely be replaced in the coming decades by machines from these technologies which can be seen filing recipes perfectly without ever taking a sick day for a smoke break. The law firms are not left out as they have outsourced jobs globally and hence reduced regulations and budgetary provisions.

In Conclusion:

Notwithstanding, now just as technology and globalization have been observed to have destroyed jobs, it's important to point out here that they also create jobs by making available new Industries and Markets for products to thrive. Though we don't know exactly what the future is going to look like with the rate of technological advancement and globalization but we do know that all sectors would keep evolving every now and then as employees keep learning to fit in.

Greetings appreciated @xkool24.

A great reflection that you have brought us today.

Every time a new technology emerges, human beings feel threatened in one way or another.
We may fear that we will lose our jobs. Others think that with these new technologies more powerful weapons for war will be developed.

While it is true that many jobs were affected during the industrial evolution and with the advent of more powerful computers, it is also true that the benefits to humanity are very significant.

I loved this article.

Thank you for these highlights..so do you think with technology displacing the jobs of people is doing more harm than good to us?

Irrespective of the position, humans would always find to create a balance.
