DO YOUR DEFINITION OF TERMS, THAT IS, PAIN AND GAIN.

Pain is a feeling that everybody has when they feel disappointed, or lose someone very close to them. Pain is a feeling very unpleasant and annoying as a result of something not yielding the kind of results one wanted it to.
While gain on the other hand, is the fruits or benefits of a certain effort that was geared towards the production of succession of something. It is the profit of one’s sweat.

WHAT DO YOU UNDERSTAND BY THE STATEMENT?

The statement is quite simple and straightforward. This is to say that if one does not work hard enough to get what they want, it is very hard for them to achieve their goals in life. As such, a person must toil as hard as they can to get what they want in life, and become who and what they want to become. Nothing good comes easy in life. Even with some wealthy kids, if they do not have the wisdom and knowledge on how to manage and control and sustain their parents’ wealth, they will grow poor at the end of the day. This is to say that, no matter where a person may be, they need to work hard to get what they want, or work hard to remain in the good position they might’ve found themselves in.

I very much subscribe to this school of thought. Reasons being that:

  • A lazy person cannot become what they keep fantasying about.
  • A lazy person’s dreams die after lots of imaginations and wishes.
  • Mere excuses will bring nothing but pain.
  • Any wealth that is gotten illegally wasn’t worked for, and cannot yield fruits like those who laboured for it.

SHARE AN EXPERIENCE FOR, OR AGAINST THE STATEMENT.

No pain, no gain. I would like to go back to my secondary school days to make an illustration here. I had a group of friends who worked hard to make sure we had good grades. I was competing with a friend of mine at that time. She was very bright, and I was smart, but I knew I needed to do more to be recognised. So I began to stay up at night to study some more.

The joy of being known by teachers and called by my name was something I couldn’t make comparisons with. So when I got to class the next day, I noticed I answered more questions than she did in a particular subject. I was proud of myself and decided to apply the same method to other subjects. This was the gain I had as a result of the pain I went through that night, depriving my young self of the sweet sleep I should’ve enjoyed.

This is to show that, even when somebody gains what they didn’t work for, they joy they will have will be so little, compared to the one who toiled day and night for that same joy. Hard work pays off. And if one isn’t in a situation that cannot be helped without working for that thing, it becomes problematic for them.

CONCLUSION

The best thing is to avoid being lazy and work as hard as you can to have the joy you’re looking for. The pain will be no longer remembered as a pain when you’ve made it through. Just endure, and work hard for the brighter future that smiles ahead of you.

Thanks to @anthony that invited me. And a big thanks to the community for this beautiful contest.
Would like to invite @bela90, @ahbaz and @justiceanietie to participate in the contest.
