What do you understand by the phrase customers are always right?
Customers are always right in the sense that their complaints, as well as commendations are always seen as being correct. Customers have the right to say what they feel about a particular product. Whatever observations they make is right before the sellers. That's what I understand by customers always being right. As a customer, have you ever seen yourself in a situation where you were treated specially because of the above phrase? Please tell us about it.
Not myself. But my mistress had done it multiple times to some customers she dimmed fit for special customer service. Most hair stylists mix water with shampoo and hair conditioner to increase the quantity a bit. But my mistress would leave a part in of it undiluted for some customers who complained that the shampoo was too watery and therefore not original. For these ones, she'd use the unmixed ones to wash their hair, and special hair treatments. As the one offering the service, have you ever been in a situation where you have to treat customers exceptionally because of the above phrase? Please tell us about it.
Well, I answered this question above. Talking about myself, I have. I only do this to a few persons I find very peaceful and eager to patronize but do not have what it takes to do that. Like some may want to buy my groundnuts, but do not have up to the amount to pay for it. So what I do is to either sell on credit or not give them in the actual price. This is not usually done to just anybody, but those I feel need the help.Do you think that the phrase customers are always right is the right phrase to use? Give reasons why or why not.
I don't think so. So many have used this phrase in different and negative ways to abuse the seller or service provider. Reasons being that they think or feel that their opinions should always be accepted and implemented. A typical example is when a customer steps on the rights of a sales person simply because he's financially buoyant or stable than the other person. Some customers too, feel they could talk anyhow to a salesperson. This happens mostly with apprentices in a shop, and often times, the master/mistress would take sides with the customer just to maintain them(the customers). Customers are at some point right with their observations and complaints, but they shouldn't cross their boundaries.Would like to invite @coolj2, @okere-blessing and @anthony002 for this contest.
Thank you for inviting me friend.
