Hello everyone, we are back with another fascinating contest topic to write on. Courtesy of @josepha, I will be discussing on an issue tbat has caused a lot of controvesy among people.
what do I understand by the statement, "For better, For worse", in the marriage institution join
For better, or For worse is one of the vows exchanged during the joining of holy matrimony. Son young people think that love is the only requirement for marriage, forgetting that other factors make marriage a success, neglecting the signs when they are glaringly staring at them. Having parents who have been married for 40 years, I can boldly tell you that at a point, Love will not be the thing keeping a marriage intact but respect, communication, and selflessness.
The marriage dogma of " for better, for worse" means that married couples should bear in mind that there will be good and bad times, in the good they should rejoice together, and in the bad, they should stick together for it will soon pass.
Do you support the moral statement in marriage institutions during wedding ceremonies?
Yes, I support them because together, while supporting one another, they will survive any challenge and obstacle they face.
For better, or for worse indirectly tell couples that every decision taken has its consequences so they must learn and accept the consequences that come with marriage. That it is not all about love but the ability to live together despite each other's differences.
At the same time, one should be observant enough to discern when one has passed the stage of enduring the worse. It is not everything that one should endure, at a point, they should leave the marriage and save their lives.
Do you have personal experience with a situation of this kind, or heard from others?
A popular story of a Nigerian artist who lost her life because she was enduring. Perhaps, a lot of people she looked up to had told her that marriage was "for better, for worse", and that it was what she signed up for. Maybe if she had not been told that several times, she would have left and still be here with us.
I invite @davidmarkgeorge @confydence to participate in this contest.
