As you are friends, this time I come with another very interesting topic for our nutritional and gastronomic guide we will talk about Basil, a well known herb in gastronomy for its contribution of flavor and smell to the preparations where it is used.

Basil is mainly used in the Mediterranean gastronomy, in the Italian it is used for the preparation of sauces and pizzas, we cannot forget the incomparable Pesto, that is not more than a sauce whose main ingredients are basil and parmesan cheese, a little olive oil and ready

We can find two types of basil, one that gives the purple flower and another that gives the white flower, in general lines it is said that the purple basil is stronger than the white one, I possess a terrible sense of smell so I really do not notice any difference between the two. The basil bushes measure approximately 1 mts and height, can be cultivated in small masts also in the windows of some apartments we can see them, in the houses it is very common to see this grass, that also has medicinal properties, of which we will speak also.

The little exploited medicinal properties of this herb, correspond to super interesting topics, such as lowering fever, relieves nausea, also acts as a diuretic, soothe headaches, relieves cough, stimulates the production of maternal milk, among other things.

An amenra in which we can also obtain benefits from basil is through its essential oil, this we can prepare ourselves, in another post I will show you how to do it. This oil serves as a muscle relaxant when applied to contracted areas or just as a massage because it will help us to relax the muscles and obtain a more relaxed state.

Basil can be consumed in its fresh state, as we usually do, or it can be dried. This will intensify its properties, to make basil infusions which help to regulate gases. To dry our basil leaves we must only leave them in a cool place in the house, in a separate tray each leaf for the drying is uniform and then in a matter of a few days we can get our basil leaves, which also in a particular way sometimes use in preparations.

To plant our basil plant we make a flower bush, we separate some of the leaves from the ones that are in the floral stick and let them dry or we wait for the stick to dry, and we simply space them in the ground to obtain our seedlings, we can also plant them at 1 cm deep and give them daily watering, I love basil and I use it a lot in the kitchen, every time I am planting it too, to regenerate the plants.

It has been a pleasure for me to share this post, thanks for being here and having read this post which I hope will be of much use for you and the rest of your family.
