I got contacted by a friend of a friend that they would like me to paint a plant for them, they sent me a reference and immediately, I fell in love with the colors, so I got working.
At my first try, I used a Winsor and Newton Cartridge(110gsm) sketch pad paper with Reeves gouache paint. I was pretty disappointed, and was pretty sad.
It took a while to recuperate from the first failure(^-^). I decided to try out a different paper (Sinoart sketchbook, 110gsm acid free paper) , and voila! There was a huge improvement! The issue with the first paper was that , the paint didn't spread out evenly on the paper, it just wasn't attractive.
