Hello steemians, hello food lovers,am going to be sharing a Nigerian food recipe called "Ukwa" in English it's known as "Breadfruit".
This is a very expensive meal because because the bread fruit is difficult to process, this meal is usually served in big occasions, very tasty and yummy if well prepared.
RECIPE
INGREDIENTS
*Fresh or dried ukwa
*palmoil
*Bitterleaf(optional)
*crayfish
*salt
*seasoning cubes
*Stockfish
*fresh pepper
PREPARATION
Pick, rinse and put your ukwa in a pot,add water 2 inches above the quantity of Your ukwa and set on fire, while it's boiling on fire, you can start preparing your ingredients, blend your pepper and crefish and set aside.
Wash and cook your stockfish separately
Breadfruit is usually thick when it's cool just like how your pottage dishes appear so it's more advisable you prepare it and leave some water on it.
Add your already pre-cooked stockfish, cover and allow to cook with the ukwa, then add your palmoil and other ingredients, your seasoning cube and salt to taste stir and cover the lid
Allow to cook till very soft, then you can add your bitterleaf, allow to cook for three minutes, then turn off your heat and your breadfruit is ready to be served. Please you can leave out the bitterleaf if you don't like it,it's very optional, you can also try using another vegetable if you want.
P.s: You can also serve with a tomato sauce if you want as I cooked mine with but it's not necessary.
