The Telos blockchain has come to stay. My previous write-ups were focused mainly on the progress and activities of Telos4africa, which happens to be a branch of Telos. Today, however, I'll be looking at some of the Dapps on the Telos blockchain.

Before that, I'll tell you what Telos is all about is once again, for the benefit of those reading for the first time.

The Telos Foundation is an independent, decentralised non-profit organisation which promotes the blockchain network of the future which is Telos. It was launched a year ago with tha aim of selling Telos to the general public through the social media, public relations, live events and education. Telos Foundation is also focused on community in achieving its goal.

There're many Dapps on the Telos blockchain.

Dapp - A decentralized application is a computer application that runs on a distributed computing system. DApps have been popularized by distributed ledger technologies such as the Ethereum Blockchain, where DApps are often referred to as smart contracts.

I'll be looking at three.

  • Zeptagram
  • Dmail
  • Sesacash

Zeptagram

Zeptagram is a superfast growing trading platform based on blockchain technology working closely with artists and content creators all over the world to offer the most lucrative platform for investment and trading of music rights.

To put it simply, Zeptagram is a blockchain platform which provides a comfortable space for artists especially musicians to offer and trade their music. Telos was listed on Zeptagram not too long ago and it has been smooth ever since.

The first telos4africa team song by Destiny Marshall - the team leader was uploaded on the platform. You can watch here

Zeptagram tokenizes music rights and provides a platform where the tokens can be traded.

Dmail

Dmail is a native, secure messaging app for Telos applications, launched in October. This one solves a major problem that other blockchain networks have struggled with — how to effectively message users without relying on the cumbersome “memo” field on a signed transaction.

One of the issues cryptocurrency users have faced over the years is the problem of memo. One mistake in a single memo can lead to a lose in transaction which also means lose of investment, and in most cases, cannot be recovered.

Many applications require the user to input their email or phone number to make contact. The dmail application changes this by enabling applications to send users text rich information (similar to email) directly to their blockchain accounts. Dmail provides a much friendlier messaging interface for Telos dapps, while also protecting against spam and privacy violations.

It aims to enhance user experience for applications on the Telos blockchain by enabling users to send messages to each other, and allowing applications to update their users without asking for personal information. The privacy and anti-spam focused dmail system launched on the Telos Network on October 7, 2019.

Sesacash

Sesacash is a defi app (decentralized financial app). This one is more beneficial to Africans especially Nigerians and Ghanaians. It is located in Ghana. It offers a faster, cheaper, more secure financial system (zero transaction fees), that was built to facilitate people in Africa to make transactions and be able to send and receive money across borders. This perk allows users to spend money and manage their finances in a simple way, indifferent in what country they live, eliminating high exchange fees.

It has a rewarding system which makes use of a utility token called yent (YNT). It rewards users with bonuses and cashbacks to perform transactions.

Sesacash doesn’t charge fees for the transactions across borders between Sesacash accounts. The team wants to promote decentralized finance systems around the continent where they can give people the freedom to access other African currencies and make payments for goods and services and not having to worry about high exchange fees, delays in transactions that can take up to two business days to carry out payments or send money across borders. Sesacash makes this process faster and cheaper allowing business partners to make payments across different African countries.
