In this post I would like to write about one of the best rules to learn English words.

The rule is :

''Learn English phrases, not individual words.''

When you learn a word, usually you translate it to your native language and just try to remember it. But, when you learn it in a few phrases, you will have a lot of associations and your brain may memorize it for a long time.

When you listen to an English conversation or read something, you may find words you don't understand. It's better to not translate only the word, but translate the whole sentence. That way you will remember the word better.

At the same time, when you learn phrases, you will learn grammar. You learn about how to use the word correctly. That way you don't even need to think about the grammar and you will write and talk correctly without even thinking about that.

So, do your best to always learn a word in a phrase, but not only the word.

An other benefit also. When you use this methode, you learn other words as well. So, you will enrich you vocabulary at the same time.
