Finally!!
I am on to my 3rd book this quarantine! To say I am ecstatic would be an understatement. I feel so productive not to mention proud of myself for holding on strong and slowly bringing back my reading culture, something I swore by for 2020.
Granted, I haven't finished this book yet, barely at page 5, but I am super excited to get to the 3rd! At this rate, I might just start on the 4th before the lock-down here in Madrid is lifted in 3 weeks time!!
Trying to read some more, mostly in the evenings when I want to have a calm moment by myself over a glass of wine or coffee(it's mostly wine), and also trying to motivate myself to do it on a daily basis.
Though a little longer than the other 2 books I have read this quarantine, I am almost certain it will be worth the time, no matter how long it might take to finish!
864 pages to go!
I honestly cannot remember the last time I read such a long book, it's been a while. But the good part is, it is actually quite thrilling and has some great reviews so I am almost sure I will be glued to it.
I already love how it starts out, not to mention the font as well.
Yes guys, I am the kind of person that quickly loses interest in books just because of a font, some are too strainous and don't make for a great reading experience.
THE GOLDFINCH
You probably have heard of the movie or watched it, it launched in 2019 and was quite a hit. I am the kind of person who prefers to read the book first before jumping into the movie, I haven't even watched its review because I don't want it to tarnish my imagination of the book.
The Goldfinch is a novel by the American author Donna Tartt. The novel is a coming-of-age tale told in the first person. The protagonist, 13-year-old Theodore Decker, survives a terrorist bombing at an art museum where his mother is killed. While staggering through the debris, he takes with him a small Dutch Golden Age painting called The Goldfinch.
Abandoned by his father, Theo is taken in by the family of a wealthy friend. Bewildered by his strange new home on Park Avenue, disturbed by schoolmates who don't know how to talk to him, and tormented above all by his unbearable longing for his mother, he clings to one thing that reminds him of her: a small, mysteriously captivating painting that ultimately draws Theo into the underworld of art.Source
I don't know about you, but to me this sounds like a very exciting read, one that I cannot wait to get right into!!
Are you currently reading anything?
Definitely a book I would recommend, if you have read it, what was your experience with it?
