Chinchin is an African snack made with flour and some other ingredients like buyer, baking powder, nutmeg, egg, sugar and vegetable oil.
Chinchin should be neither too hard nor soft after frying but it depends on your mixture.
Procedure for making chichin
step1: Sieve your dry flour and add baking powder then mix together very well. Then mix any dry other dry flavor like nutmeg, then put magrine, it could be also melted. So we rub together with flour and make sure its smooth in mixture.
step 2: After we will mix all watery substance like milk and egg, then we will also dissolve our sugar with little warm water, then pour in the mixture. Mix it very well in a container for 1 minute until the dough is formed.
Flat surface like table is needed to knead for 5minutes si that all the ingredients may go round and balance in taste.
Step 3: Bring small portion out on flat surface, dust dry flour on the flat surface and on the rolling pin, then roll it ti be flat for about ¼ inches, then we cut out in strips. Well you can cut it into any desired shape you want.
step 4: we preheat our vegetable oil for about 350°c then we live the chinchin to dry, it should not be too brown then we'll bring out in a bowl; ready to eat or sell out.
