Hello, how are you doing?
I will be explaining how to make chinchin. Chinchin is a deep frying common crunchy snacks especially in west Africa
- Chinchin should neither to hard nor too soft after frying.
- First we will combine and sieve all purpose flour, then we will add add some baking powder to it, baking powder is optional that is if you want your chinchin to be hard, then you mixed the flour and baking powder together thoroughly.
- Add melted butter, milk and egg with flavour, then we mixed it together until the dough is formed then we will use our hands to knead. Dough for about 2 to 4 minutes.
- We will dust some flour on a flat surface and transfer the dough to the dusted flat surface after we dust some flour on the rolling pin. We roll out the dough till its thin and thickness should be about 1/6 of inch because it will double in size when we fry it.
- The dough will be cut into long strips then into small rectangle or square or any desired shape but it should not be too big when we're done cutting it should fry in a preheated oil of 350°F. Keep turning over and over till its evenly brown.
- Then its ready but should be served cold
