In the world of video games there are always new developers who want to innovate in this industry in some way. In most cases they form a team with the same objective, to make a game that gives players a unique experience. This was achieved by the developer Remedy Entertainment, who made a very particular title called Alan Wake.

Prior to Alan Wake's release, Remedy Entertainment achieved its fame in 2001 with a video game that surprised everyone with its excellent storytelling and action, this was Max Payne, as was its sequel released two years later entitled Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne. Both works demonstrated the excellent potential that the developer had.

Remedy Entertainment had already planned its next title which would give birth to the seventh generation of video consoles, but it would not be easy, since it would take more than 5 years to realize it. At first they wanted to make an open world survival video game, where the player collects fuel sources during the day, to defend himself from strange night creatures that were weak against the light.

However, after a few months planning how the video game would be, many of these ideas were discarded, having the conclusion that his next title had to have a superior narrative than his previous game (Max Payne) but with a touch of suspense and terror which would catch the player at every moment, that's how Alan Wake was born.

Alan Wake's development team focused on many aspects of Alan Wake, among them the great graphics, its atmosphere, but the one that stands out the most without a doubt is the video game's narrative, where it takes as its first feature the main character called Alan, a novelist who suffers from "writer's block" for more than two years.

The fact that Alan is a writer within the game gives him an excellent story, as it's part of a series of events where he puts his talent into practice in a certain way. Also, the game gives you the opportunity to experience a psychological terror that very few titles have been able to develop.

But not everything was good for Alan Wake, despite being a very well received video game by the community and having excellent positive reviews, it left some people with a kind of dissatisfaction, due to its peculiar ending which leaves open the possibility of a second delivery, however, it is not known exactly when they will release this expected continuation.

In spite of the time waited for a sequel, Alan Wake has received additional content which explains certain interesting things about the plot, such as "The Signal" and "The Writer", which allow you to continue enjoying the psychological terror that is so characteristic of this video game.

In 2019 the developer Remedy Entertainment launched a video game that has many references to Alan Wake called Control, this last title has excited fans of the writer, as it shows that they have not forgotten him, in addition to explaining certain things about Bright Falls, where the events of Alan Wake take place.

Despite the fact that Alan Wake is more than 10 years old, its graphics have aged very well and you can play it on the Microsoft Windows platform. This version is the most recommended due to certain improvements with respect to its visual quality.
