A possible case of COVID-19 alarmed my community

In Venezuela, thank God we have had a low rate of contagion by COVID-19, and here in my town Píritu we have not had an official positive case, but last night the alarm was raised that apparently there was a possible suspicious case near my house.

En Venezuela gracias a Dios hemos tenido un bajo índice de contagio por COVID-19, y aquí en mi pueblo Píritu no hemos llegado tener un caso positivo oficial pero anoche se activó la alarma de que al parecer había un posible caso sospechoso cerca de mi casa.

This greatly alarmed the neighbors and other inhabitants of my town since no case had been presented and most of the people had not complied with the rules imposed to avoid contagion, such as quarantine and the use of face mask when leaving.

Esto alarmó mucho a los vecinos y demás habitante de mi pueblo ya que no se había presentado ningún caso y mayormente las personas no habían acatado las normas impuestas para evitar el contagio como lo es la cuarentena y el uso de tapaboca al salir.

The times I have gone out to buy, I observed many people on the streets, also some without face masks and others using it incorrectly, for example, they did not cover their noses. Many people have not been properly aware of what may happen but are taking the steps already prescribed to prevent the spread.

Las veces que he salido a comprar, observaba a muchas personas en las calles además algunas sin tapabocas y otras usándolo incorrectamente, por ejemplo no se tapaban la nariz. Muchas personas no han tomado la conciencia debida que puede ocurrir sino toman las medidas ya pautadas para prevenir el contagio.

Last night they wrote for a WhatsApp group where there are about 200 people from Piritu and among those me, and they commented on what was happening with the possible case. Many of them said that in the rapid test it had given a positive result when it really was not, on the contrary it had a negative result, but they also did the PCR.

Anoche escribían por un grupo de whatsapp en donde hay como 200 personas de Piritu y entre esas yo, y comentaban lo que estaba ocurriendo con el posible caso. Muchos de ellos decían que en la prueba rápida había dado positivo cuando realmente no era así, al contrario dio negativo pero de igual manera le hicieron el PCR.

Today in the morning many in the group commented that if it was true that the lady had given negative reasons why they were disinfecting the street and they had it closed, I sent them an audio explaining that the protocol that they must follow is that negative the rapid test, they must disinfect and close the block until the day they submit the PCR results, approximately within 2 to 5 days.

El día de hoy en la mañana muchos en el grupo comentaban que si era verdad que la señora había dado negativo por qué estaban desinfectando la calle y la tenían cerradas, yo les envié un audio explicándoles que el protocolo que deben de cumplir es que así de negativo la prueba rápida, ellos deben de desinfectar y cerrar la cuadra hasta el día que entreguen los resultados del PCR, aproximadamente dentro de 2 a 5 días.

Reading all the comments in the group I could see that there are many people who are not well informed on how to prevent the coronavirus and I know that it is because here most people do not have internet and few have television signals and in addition to that there are a large number of them who did not believe that what was happening in the world was true, in fact they thought it was a lie by the government to prevent a social outbreak due to the gasoline shortage.

Al leer todos los comentarios en el grupo pude constatar que hay muchas personas que no están bien informada de cómo prevenir el coronavirus y se que se debe a que aquí la mayoría de las personas no cuentan con internet y pocos tienen señales de televisión y además de que hay un gran número de ellos que no creían que era cierto lo que estaba sucediendo en el mundo, de hecho pensaron que era una mentira del gobierno para evitar que hubiera un estallido social por la escasez de gasolina.

Now with what has happened, I hope that people are aware and take the provisions so that they do not catch the virus that has killed thousands of people in the world.

Ahora con lo que ha ocurrido, espero que las personas tengan conciencia y tomen las previsiones para que así no se contagien de éste virus que ha matado a miles de personas en el mundo.

Here in Venezuela, unlike other countries, we have many limitations, in terms of water (in many parts the water does not arrive), electricity (there are power cuts daily for up to 5 hours), internet (it is very slow and in some cities there is no signal), food (the high cost of the same does not allow us to have a waiver for a month, sometimes a product is purchased daily if money allows it), so all this makes it a little difficult for quarantine but even so we thank God because there are very few infected compared to other countries.

Aquí en Venezuela a diferencia de otros países, tenemos mucha limitaciones, en cuanto a agua (en muchas partes no llega el agua), luz (hay cortes eléctricos diario de hasta 5 horas), internet (es muy lento y en algunas ciudades no hay señal), alimentos (el alto costo de los mismo no nos permite contar con una dispensa para un mes, a veces se compra a diario un producto si el dinero se lo permite), así que todo esto nos pone un poco difícil la cuarentena pero aún así agradecemos a Dios porque hay muy pocos contagiados comparado a otros países.
