Hola a toda la comunidad, el paciente portador de prótesis, suele llegar a la consulta con la prótesis fracturada bien sea por desgaste, por accidente o por caída y desea que sea reparada lo más pronto posible, ya que es incomodo no tenerla ya que le limita su vida cotidiana.

Hello to the whole community, the patient who wears a prosthesis usually comes to the consultation with the broken prosthesis either due to wear and tear, accident or fall and wants it to be repaired as soon as possible, since it is uncomfortable not to have it as it limits his daily life.

Lo primero que observamos es el tipo de fractura sufrió la prótesis si es una fractura sencilla podemos repararla en el consultorio.

The first thing we observe is the type of fracture suffered by the prosthesis if it is a simple fracture we can repair it in the office.

En este caso es una prótesis parcial inferior de acrílico, se toma una impresión del paciente para poder trabajarla con mayor comodidad, se realiza un desgaste en la zona de la fractura y se amplia hacia los lados para que la reparación sea más efectiva.

In this case it is a partial inferior prosthesis of acrylic, an impression of the patient is taken to be able to work it with greater comfort, a wear in the zone of the fracture is made and it is extended towards the sides so that na repair is but effective.

Luego de hacer el desgaste, se mezcla acrílico rosado con monómero y hacer una pasta para hacer la reparacion, se coloca de forma generosa adosando a la impresión copiando la forma del reborde del paciente.

After making the wear, pink acrylic is mixed with monomer and a paste is made to make the repair, it is placed in a generous way by attaching it to the impression by copying the shape of the patient's rim.

Luego se pule de forma que no se vean las divisiones y se abrillanta, de allí sólo esperar que el paciente se la pruebe, ver que no le incomoda, se alivian los bordes y se entrega.

Then it is polished in such a way that the divisions are not seen and it is polished from there only waiting for the patient to try it on to see that it does not bother him, the edges are relieved and it is delivered.

Este procedimiento dura aproximadamente de 2 a 3 horas, para realizarlo.
