Today my sister made chaat masala.Now i am going to share the recipe of this dish with you.
What is chaat masala:
Chaat Masala is the spice mix that adds a unique zing and flavor to most desi snacks, street food, fried food, fruit salads and chaats. Sprinkle it on cucumber slices, fruit salad or fried pakora and you’ll instantly add a quintessential flavor to the otherwise not so zesty food.
My chaat masala recipe is a simple blend of spices available in most desi homes. Many uses amchor/dry mango powder, but I never use it. You are welcome to add a teaspoon to the recipe if you wish. The spice blend gets its distinctive flavor from the black salt used to make it.
NGREDIENTS
- 25 dry small red chilies
- 3 table spoon pachforon or 5 spice
- 2 table spoon cumin
- 1 table spoon ( heaped) whole coriander /dhonia
- 1/2 tea spoon fennel
- 8/9 cloves
- 1 tea spoon black pepper
- 3/4 tea spoon Radhuni ( I used ajwain instead)
- 3/4 tea spoon black salt/ bit lobon / rock salt
- 1/2 tea spoon amchoor powder ( you can add more if u want little more tangy)
Procedure:
Dry roast dry red chilies and cumin separately . Dry roast other ingredients except black salt and amchoor powder . Now grind them together into a powder .Mix in black salt and amchoor powder . Now it's ready.
NOTES:
Be cautious when roasting so that the spices do not burn.
Store chaat masala in a cool, dry place in a glass container for up to 3 months.
