Ethereum 2.0 reaches its first milestone in the race that will lead to the definitive transition from a Proof Of Work (POW) system to a Proof Of Stake (POS) consensus mechanism.
On November 4th, 2020, the Ethereum Deposit Address was disclosed to allow Ethereum stakers to start depositing the 32-ETH needed to work as Validator of the Ethereum blockchain.
I remind everyone that it will be possible to stake less than 32-ETH through staking pools like Binance or Rocketpools.
Currently (November / 18th / 2020) 101,184 ETH have been deposited ready for stake.
The threshold for starting Etthereum 2.0 corresponds to 524,288 ETH, so we are currently at about 20% of deposits needed to launch Ethereum staking. Considering that the Ethereum currently deposited does not perceive any return until the mainnet will be live and that the deposits have been enabled just two weeks ago, we can be hopeful about the possibility of seeing Ethereum 2.0 live in the first days of December.
