How i prepared Rice cake locally called Masa in hausa language

  • Where are my lovers of local Nigerian dish, here is a simple rice 🌾 cake you may want to explore.

  • I got unparboiled rice, milled it like that, soaked in water for few hours to soften the rice grain and then grind it to smooth paste with grinding machine.

  • Next i added yeast to the paste to initiate fermentation which gives the rice a desired sour but delicious taste.

  • After 3 hours of fermention, i added the only needed ingredients of salt, onions and water to make the paste into a thick liquid which was then fried in oil over charcoal heat.

Rice cake is ready and can be eating with sugar, sauce or vegetable soup.
