Hi Steemit
- Today am looking into one of the aspect of fashion that i found so simple but interesting. Most children dresses involve cutting a half length bodice to the waist which is then completed to full length adding gathers pleating or flair of desired material.
- Measurement are taking in two direction.
- Measurement round the body circumference involving, Bust - 26 , waist- 24, hip- 27 as desired. This is the measurements for my sis and most clothes i make for her.
2 Another set of measurement is down the body length where we measure
Shoulder - bust
Shoulder to waist (also called half length)
Shoulder to hip
Shoulder to knee for short dresses
Shoulder to ankle for long dresses.
All length measurement begins at the shoulder.
- When not making a straight dress, the dress is cut in two parts, one is the half length bodice pattern of front and back, while the second is the other part that completes the dress to desired length
Front half bodice with 3 by 3 Neckiline. 6 inches shoulder width and 0.5 inches shoulder slant that is line drawn from neckline to join the armhole because humans do not have straight shoulders that is applicablw to cloths as well.
.
Back bodice half length with zip allowance and a raosed neckline of 3 by 1.5 inches
A straight cut out of satin material to complete the dress using a gathers method.
front bodice and slashed back bodice to make room for zip
Back bodice with raised neckine of 3 width by 1.5 depth
Back bodice with 1 inch zip allowance
- I got in town yesterday and got this piece of fabric i was working on, i was only able to cut fabric into the dress 👗 form i have in mind, am stuch here waiting for electricity to add interface on the fabric which give it added firmness and standing that beautify children cloth.
