Many people consider astrology as something magical or even a scam. This is mainly due to their bad experiences or just stereotyping it as something unscientific.
As I am an engineer even I was also a little skeptical about it in the beginning, but when I started reading "Vedic astrology" I found it very interesting. I found that it is based on mathematical calculations not something magical. I am currently learning Vedic astrology.
Here I am presenting some of the interesting facts about the same.
Vedic Astrology is way older than other forms of astrology, In fact the roots of Vedic astrology go back thousands of years where it was first recorded in the ancient Indian scriptures known as Rig Veda. And Rig Veda is at least 5000 years old. Moreover, it has some references suggesting it's origin to be way older in around 9000 BC.
You must have heard about Zodiac signs, there are 12 Zodiac signs. Space is divided into 12 equal parts with considering earth into centre. This each portion represent one zodiac sign. Hence as the whole space consist of total 360 degrees, each zodiac sign area consist of 30 degrees in space.
Space is also divided into 27 equal portions, which are known as "Nakshatras". Hence each zodiac sign contains 2.25 nakshatras. Moreover there are further divisions as well. All in all this is how mapping of space is done.
Now, motion of planets of solar system are precisely tracked on this space map. And prediction is given by considering various combinations of planets and their positions. for example Sun (also referred as planet) takes one month to pass through one zodiac sign i.e. 30 degrees in space.
For prediction about someones life position of planets at time of one's birth is considered along with birth place co-ordinates.
Please note that I have over simplified the process of prediction just for understanding purpose, and that also as per my knowledge. I am still learning it after all.
I consider vedic Astrology as ancient knowledge. It has tremendous potential to help us in our day to day life and in achieving our life goals.
