Toilets of Thailand #1 - Oakwood Hotel and Residences, Sri Racha, Chonburi

This is the first in a series of reviews and photographs of toilets, WCs, CRs, Bogs, Shit houses, call them what you will.

Probably the most important room in any house or establishment, the variation and levels of decoration, design and cleanliness vary wildly! So let's get started with a really nice one in a high-quality hotel I stayed in last week.

I love the clean, simple lines of this bathroom with its retro style ceramic tiles. The sink is a perfect size and extends out from the countertop which was at a perfect 'lean-over' height. No environmentally unfriendly individually wrapped toiletries here, just a full soap dispenser with a gently, jasmine-scented liquid soap.

The bath and shower were separated by a glass door and screen. The tub was clean, and a nice depth but nothing out of the ordinary. No built-in jacuzzi functions sadly and the shower was a little lacking. I do like the rain-forest type and this was just a standard showerhead. The pressure was reasonable and there was plenty of really hot water.

Quality toilet with hygienic stainless steel fittings and bog brush holder! No bum gun required here as the botty washing was all built into the toilet and all the functions were in full working order!

Plenty of adjustments including pressure, temperature and fine-tuning of the spray and drying positions. The pressure on full almost led to an enema in the 'rear' position whereas the soft rear with the temperature wound up was rather...err.....soothing! The blow dryer was efficient albeit a little slow but it did the trick. Excellent throne indeed!

Overall marks for the Oakwood Hotel and residences, Sriracha, Chonburi were a respectable 4/5!
