The Road to the Golden Forest
Is raining today, so I was looking on some old photos on my computer to see what I could find.

This time I want to talk also about the power of Raw files.
I always shoot in raw to be able to recover colors and lights and to have more control over my photos.
The only downside of shooting in raw format is that you need an editing software to be able to open them, then you edit the photo and export it to jpg. And of course raw files are way larger (the file size on disk) to be able to keep all that information.

See before and after, I was able to recover some clouds that are barely visible, colors and textures, lights in the dark areas

Now of course depending on personal style you can control the editing, I like to boost the contrast and colors to have more impact, maybe for some photographers might be to intense, but I like it. And is definitely more interesting then the original file.

This photo was edited in Lightroom and Photoshop, also there is an interesting plugin, called Color Efex Pro that is part of Nik Collection that has some interesting adjustments for colors and lights, and I use the most Pro Contrast function that let me adjust the contrast in a interesting way. But also help the way you are using the colors, like cold to warm transitions (warm ground - cool sky).
