My 'Stress relief' technique during self-isolation!

It's been almost two mounts I'm in lockdown. It's hard to live like this. But I have my family; my husband and my little one with me. That's the best part of this whole period but that's also the reason for my stress and anxiety!

Not only because we are uncertain about our future but also staying at home 24/7 is lowering down my positive energy. It's hard to show my 'good face' to my son every time, it's hard to skip an argument with my husband all the time. No matter how much I try I'm facing boredom, monotony and a little depression.

More the time is passing, more I'm learning how to take the control. So, I'm gonna share a few tips about what's helping me on this journey!

Being mindful

This is the best thing I can do to myself. I always try to live mindfully, to be in the present, to embrace my presence. And especially in this situation where we have to be inside 24/7, it feels more than necessary. I'm trying to stay focused and feel myself more. It gives me a sense of peace and calmness, not just mentally but physically too.

Also, I'm trying some basic breathing practice. I wouldn't say I can do that regularly. I often forget it. But when my body reminds me to take a break and relax, I do. I just take a seat, relax, take a deep breath, and let my mind & body calm down. I'm taking care of all the house chores, cooking, and every other thing. And I find this really helpful.

Last but not least, I'm trying to stay positive. I'm trying to cultivate positive energy. I'm trying to put smile over my anger, replacing good words over something sour. I'm smiling more often, playing with my son and spending more quality time.

I know meditation can help me a lot with this. But to be honest it's been a while I didn't take part in active meditation. But alternatively, I do pray (religious ritual). This is almost similar to meditation and it's repetitive (5 times a day) so I think that's also helping me.

Another thing is, it's the fasting month for us Muslims. So, being in fasting, praying more, and improving spirituality is helping me a lot, I guess.
