About a month ago, I got an e-mail from the founder of the Young Women Composers Camp that I participated in July. It was written that a local radio called WRTI in Pennsylvania wanted to make an interview with the composers who participated in the camp. Because we were 50 composers there, I thought it wasn't a big deal and I didn't want to spend my time for it.
However, after finishing reading the e-mail, I realized that the e-mail was sent only to 7 people. At that moment, I started to think that it could actually be something special and maybe I have been selected among those 50 composers. So I accepted the offer π
But I was a little bit nervous to be honest, because I was the only foreigner among those 7 composers, and there was a risk of me not understanding the question... Since it was going to be recorded, I was having nightmares about all those possible stressful situations till the interview dayπ
Then the actual interview day came and it ended up being very good, about which I'm very happy π It was lovely. The interviewer asked me some questions about my composition I wrote for the camp and I actually enjoyed talking βοΈAlso, she said that our compositions were selected by the classical music director of the radio and that was a very special moment for me.
And two days ago, my piece aired on the WRTI Classical Radio along with a small part from the interview. That was extremely exciting to wait for hearing my composition on the radio π I've never been featured on a radio before so that was unforgettable. Also, the fact that it was not a local Turkish radio but rather a radio at somewhere in America was very cool hahaπ
