Have You Heard Of Remotasks?

So this is a quick post that i am creating during a short intermission from my training with Remotasks and it is about Remotasks. I am writing this post to stay inspired. I am trying to complete my training with Remotasks once and for all this week and i am on day two now, which will end a few hours from now. If i am able to complete today's training, i will have three more days to go, from 2pm to 9pm on each of the next three days.

The Remotasks training is interesting. It is all happening online and that itself is fascinating, that we can have a well optimized class using google classroom. In general, it is very hard for me to take online classes. To join the Remotasks training, you need to have a good computer at least with a powerful video card, you will also need internet, a headset and a microphone. Some of the tasks that you will have to participate in are graphic intensive and this where your computer will need a powerful video card.

I will talk about the content of the training in my others posts but for now, let me say that with some patience, anyone can train successfully with Remotasks. The general concept of what they do, is something that anyone can understand. To summarize it, they try to use the intellect of humans to train AI, that is being used to power self driving cars and drones too. For cars especially to drive itself safely, it has to become capable of identifying any form of object on the road, whether these objects are stationary or moving. In the training, we annotate and label objects that we find on roads and this is informed to the AI that controls these self driving cars, which in turn become better at self driving.

I say that the training is interesting because i have wider insight now than before of what is going on in the world of technology and i think this knowledge will help me in the long term. Besides, working with Remotasks, i have another school of knowledge that i can now discuss and offer input on and a better knowledge base to build on, if i decide to talk to similar projects like Remotasks to do their outsourcing in the Philippines.
