Christians

To me, all Christians are not the same. I make a difference between Catholics, Reformed, and heavily reformed (and there is a lot in between). Since the 60s church is dying in the Netherlands. Many who say they believe never visit a church or only during Easter and Christmas. I have no idea if Sunday school still exists. Some churches take children out of the church as soon as preaching starts.

I was raised, literally beaten with the Bible and its phrases, and to be honest, it all never made sense to me. Not one single word said. I do not believe in the wrath of a God not hell and do not take people seriously who claim they are god's (little) helper and have the right to punish others. If I look around me, look in the world of the Christians I see men who abuse, under pressure women and children, beating them up, find incest and rape, lying, and cheating quite normal. I see people who do not respect others and have no idea what the true meaning of love means. I see little and big judges, folk who ignore the rules themselves, do not live by them but point others at their "mistakes".

To me, those communities do not make sense and they are not Christians. You can not be a serial killer and Christian at the same time. You can not live in fear (for God) and preach God stands for love. You can not be against gay people, single mothers, and abortion if you are not able to open your heart for every human being and not willing to help if you are not able to respect someone else's opinion, opinion, or lifestyle different from yours.

So many I hear say, state "God has a good reason to... He has a plan for each one of us". If you truly believe that why you try to change nations, why looking down on cultures or start wars to kill whole groups of those who believe differently from you? If God has a plan, have faith in that plan. The faith you should feel inside. Saying it is not a sign of having faith but a sign of a huge lack of it. Faith won't come if you keep repeating these words. You are just fooling yourself. There's no god who needs a human to do the job for him, that's what I believe and it's a good thing because daily we already deal with enough mess people make out of this world and each other.
