Preparation of Achu and African dish.

Hi everyone.
Today I'll be introducing to you a special dish from Cameroon called Achu.

Achu and yellow soup Dish.

Achu is a traditional food in Cameroon which is mostly consumed by tribes in the Western grassfield of the country(West and Northwest region).

Achu is composed or prepared with Cocoyam and local banana while the soup is made with red oil and some local spices like fullow.

Achu combinations takes a period closed to 1 hour on fire before the pounding can start.

This meal is consumed by villages like Bafut, Bambili, Bambui, Awing, Pinyin, Santa, Babadjou, Bamessingue etc

Achu is a highly celebrated meal in the grassfield regions and occasions will never be termed good or beautiful if Achu wasn't present.

A newly wedded wife in those tribes is always expected go visit her in laws with a well cooked Achu meal.

Achu can be eaten without meat but tastes more when you add it to the dish without forgetting palm wine. Especially fresh one.

Sunday in those tribes has become a special Achu cooking day, early in the morning, Every woman is busy in the kitchen. Visit them on that day and be rest assured that you will consume good Achu.

Achu is one of the most hygienic meals from Cameroon.
