Hello friends of SteemFoods, today I want to share with you how I prepared these delicious alfajores of cornstarch👩🏻🍳.
Alfajores are a typical sweet from several Latin American countries and are characterized by being round in shape and filled with milk cream.
For these alfajores I needed:
250gr of butter
150gr of sugar
3 egg yolks
200gr of wheat flour
300gr of cornstarch
2 tablespoons of baking powder
Vanilla essence
grated coconut
And finally 400gr of dulce de leche
How I prepared them:
First mix the butter and sugar in a bowl until you get a smooth cream, then add the egg yolks and the vanilla essence.
Having all these ingredients well mixed, I added the wheat flour (the flour has to be sifted before adding it to the mixture) with the cornstarch and the baking powder. It is important to sift the wheat flour, since with this you get a softer and smoother mix.
Once everything was integrated, I began to knead with my hands until I obtained a consistent, thick and lump-free dough, after which I spread it with a rolling pin, cut medium circles and placed them on the floured tray.
I put the alfajores in the oven for about 5-7 minutes, when they are ready, I take them out of the oven, let them cool and spread the dulce de leche on the inside and fill them around the edges of grated coconut.
and ready
