Hi fellow steemians,
This has been my all time way of preparing fish stew, not only for it's great taste but also for the easy way of preparing it.
It's a local kind of stew and can be best combined with yam, rice or potato.
This very one was made on the 9th of May 2021, I had it for dinner and it tasted so nice (trust me when I say it does).
For this recipe I made use of Smoked herring and panla fish.
Time
The total time for this stew is about 20 mins
Ingredients required:
- Fish ( Any kind of fish but I preferred smoked fish)
-Pepper( Scotch bonnet and chilli pepper) - Tomatoes
- onion
- locust beans
-palm oil
-salt and seasoning to taste.
Preparation
Wash your hands thoroughly to stay germ free.
Wash all ingredients that needs to be washed like pepper, fish, locust beans, onions.
Blend the pepper and shred the fish and chop the onion to your preference.
Cooking
Pour the palm oil in a pot placed on a medium heat until it is slightly bleached
After which you add your chopped onion and locust beans to get the flavors released into the oil.
Then add the fish, I add my fish at the stage to get a strong fish flavour in my stew, stir for about 3 mins( Don't forget the fish has already been smoked)
Pour in your blended pepper,stir and add the seasoning.
Let it cook for about 10mins, Stir as it cooks to avoid a part getting cooked than the other.
