Hari kedua puasa Ramadan , masih seperti kemarin mendung dan gerimis. Siang berangkat dari rumah dengan motor butut ke PWA, tempat nongkron jurnalis di Lhokseumawe. tiba disitu suasana masih lengang, hanya ada dua teman yang nongkrong sambil bercengkrama. Akupun langsung nimbrung.
Ternyata dua teman Liyas dan Jai sedang membahas soal makanan sehat dan jadi obat saat berpuasa. Kata Liyas si pewarta TV, makanan sehat tanpa minyak dan serba daun hijau. Sedang Jai berbeda, dia tetap nasi sebagai karbohidrat utama dan buah sebagai penyeimbang nutrisi.
Keduanya saling berargumen dengan sumber dikutip dari berbagai tulisan dan makalah gizi. Aku hanya ikut mengaiyakan keduanya bicara , karena keduanya sama-sama benar. Jai juga menjelaskan buah-buahan penuh serat baik untuk kesehatan badan saat menjalankan puasa.
Tiba-tiba aku teringat cerita ibu dulu soal buah-buahan lokal yang bisa jadi nutrisi pencegah bahkan mengobati penyakit. Salah satunya buah Seri atau Kersen , tapi orang Aceh menyebutnya “Siri”. Bentuknya seukuran kelereng mini, merah dan manis. Bila sudah matang betul, sekilas terlihat mirip buah Ceri.
Nah, buah ini banyak ditemukan di kampung-kampung, kebanyakan masyarakat belum tahu mamfaat buah kecil mungil itu. Seri ditanam hanya untuk rindang, karena daunnya yang lebat cocok jadi tanaman penghalang cahaya matahari.
Kemudian, rasanya yang manis dengan cairan sedikit kental membuat anak-anak suka memakannya. Dulu sewaktu masih duduk di bangku sekolah dasar, buah Seri jadi santapan saat keluar kelas. Kebetulan di SD tempatku belajar dulu , banyak pohon Seri.
Jadi aku ceritakan soal itu ke Jai dan Liyas, bahwa ada tanaman yang sangat baik untuk kesehatan tapi jarang yang tahu. Kebetulan buah dan tanaman Seri itu ada di halaman kantor PWA, tepatnya di pelataran parkir dekat jalan.
Faktanya, buah Seri mengandung kurang lebih 24 senyawa Flavonoid dan Fenonil. Kedua nya adalah senyawa antioksidan yang mampu membuang racun dalam tubuh manusia. Artinya mengkonsum buah Kersen bisa membuat imun tubuh semakin baik.
Kemudian cairan manis dalam buah dan zat hijau dalam daun Seri bisa memperlancar darah, alhasil kerja jantung menjadi lebih baik. Artinya buah ini sangat baik untuk menjaga kesehatan jantung. Selanjutnya buah Seri dan daunnya juga bisa menjadi obat asam urat. Tinggal konsumsi rutin buah seri , maka kadar asam urat akan turun secara drastis. Air rebusan daunnya juga bisa jadi penawar asam urat.
Bagi penderita diabetes, buah manis ini sangat baik untuk mengontrol gula dalam darah. bahkan banyak penelitian menyebutkan buah Seri jadi obat mujarab bagi penderita sakit gula. Bahkan dalam waktu singkat, kadar gula dalam darah turun drastis setelah penderita rutin mengkosumsi buah ini.

Liyas and Jai are talking about healthy food and medicine when fasting.
Liyas is a TV reporter, he said, healthy food is without oil and green vegetables.
Jai's opinion is different, he says rice is the main carbohydrate and fruit balancing nutrients in the body. both are the best sources of food.
They argue with each other with sources quoted from various nutrition papers. I'm just saying what they think. because it's equally true.
Jai also explained that local fruits full of fiber are good for body health when fasting.
Suddenly I remembered my mother's story about local fruits that could be a preventive nutrient and even treat diseases.
One of them is Seri or Kersen fruit, but acehnese call it "Siri".
The fruit is the size of a mini marble, red and sweet. At first glance it looks like a cherry.
Well, this fruit is found in many villages, most people do not know mamfaat fruit. Seri is planted only for shady, because its dense leaves are suitable as a barrier to sunlight.
Then, its sweet taste with a slightly viscous liquid makes children like to eat it. When I was in elementary school, Seri's fruit became a meal when I came out of the study. Because in elementary school I had a lot of Seri trees.
So I told Jai and Liyas that there are plants that are very good for health but rarely know. Incidentally, seri fruit and plants are in the yard of the PWA office, precisely in the parking lot near the street
