Hello everyone and Happy 1st anniversary to all steemfoods community team. I am fruityapple00 from Cebu Philippines and I would like to share to you our dinner meal and it is called Nilarang Na Isda.
We decided to go to market to buy some stuff and food. We supposedly buy a big fish in the market to grill it but then there was a heavy rain and it’s really good to have a hot soup for our dinner. Then we decided to buy some ingredients for our viands in the market including the fish.
Linarang, Nilarang or larang is a Filipino fish stew and it is originating from the Central Visagas Islands. It is really popular here in Cebu especially in Pasil Cebu City . Other store sell it for 40-70 Php per serve . The best perfect fish for this recipe is Molmol or Parrot fish which we had it few months ago but for now we had a different fish that we bought yesterday for our viand , they did not have parrot fish in there. This Larang Filipino stew dish may also use some fish like salmon , tuna , and even bangus it is really up to you what fish you like.

Ground Pepper | a pinch of pepper or as desired | $.10 |

Cooking oil | 1/8 | $.14 |

Averrhoa Balimbi | Fresh from garden | fresh from garden |
Sampalok | 1 | $.12 |
PREPARATION:
- chopped the ingredients that needed for this recipe like onions, garlic, green chilli pepper, spring onions, balimbi , and tomatoes
- Prepare your butane and put the Pan on Butane and heat oil in pan over medium heat.
- When it’s ready , saute the garlic, onions, and chilli pepper until it will look lightly browned .
- add the spring onions, tomatoes and balimbi . And also for add pea of salt , pepper and seasoning (optional) for the taste. Cook it until translucent
- add the fish and pea of salt , pepper and seasoning (add more when it’s needed) . Mix it well
- add 5 cups of water and cook and wait until it will boil
- Check if it’s already boil, then taste the soup it is already taste good (add more taste or seasoning if needed) when it’s already boil add the sampalok powder , mix and stir it well . And wait for at least 15 minutes.
- And done serve it while it still hot 🥰
