Ingredients for Pasta

1½ cups Milk (250 ml)
1/4 teaspoon dried Oregano, optional (or pizza seasonings)

Note: To make White Pasta even healthier and kid-friendly, we used whole wheat pasta. However, you can choose from white spaghetti or whole wheat pasta according on your preferences.

Directions:

  1. When boiling raw pasta; In a deep sauce pan, add 4-5 cups of water and bring to a boil over medium heat. Add 3/4 cup Penne pasta and 1/2 teaspoon salt as it begins to boil.

  2. Boil them until they are tender (cooked but not very soft). It should take 10 to 12 minutes. Take one pasta and eat it with a fork to see if it is cooked or not. It is cooked if it is only slightly firm to biting. More cooking is necessary if the food is too tough to bite.

  3. Transfer cooked pasta to a large colander and drain excess water.

  4. Heat 1/2 teaspoon oil in a skillet or kadai over a high flame while the pasta is cooking. Add 1/4 cup of chopped carrot, 1/4 cup of chopped green and red capsicums, 1/4 cup of chopped broccoli, and 1/4 cup of salt.

  5. For about two to three minutes, stir and sauté the vegetables until they are barely cooked but still crunchy. Transferring them to a plate after turning off the flame.

  6. In the same pan or kadai, melt 1 12 tablespoons of butter. 30 seconds later, add 1/2 teaspoon of finely sliced garlic.

  7. Add 1½ tablespoons maida (all purpose flour).

  8. Stir continuously and cook for a minute.

  9. Pour 1½ cups milk little by little while stirring continuously with a whisk.

  10. Stir and mix for 1-2 minutes.

  11. Fire is reduced to low. Stirring and cooking should continue until the mixture begins to thicken. Depending on the size and thickness of the pan, it will take about 3–4 minutes.

  12. Add 1/4 teaspoon oregano, 1/4 teaspoon red chilli flakes, a pinch of black pepper powder and salt.

  13. Mix well and add sautéed vegetables and pasta.

  14. Turn off the flame. Mix well.
