Hello dear and appreciated steem food community, it is my pleasure to be able to share an easy, rich and traditional sweet from my country, known as dulce de leche or well called in other countries as papaya.
This rich sweet belongs to the typical Venezuelan sweet shop, it is consumed all year round and is never lacking in the holidays. It is a sweet in syrup, seasoned with cloves, and cinnamon, very easy and cheap to make.
Ingredients:
1 large green owl
1/2 k of sugar
1/2 panela o papelon
500ml of water
1 to 2 tablespoons of baking soda
Cloves
Cinnamon stick
STEPS FOR THE PREPARATION:
1- The first thing we must do is wash it very well, to clean what we generally call fruit milk, which is a white liquid that comes out of it and remove all the skin and chop it into elongated pieces that are not very fine.
2-place to soak in a container with water and baking soda for 4 hours in my case I left them overnight, after the soaking time the water is removed and washed again
3- In a saucepan place the water with the sugar and the spices when heating a little, I introduced the papaya.
4-And leave for approximately one to two hours, stirring regularly, until the fruit turns a crystalline color.
TIPS
If you want it dark, you can put brown paper or panela on it, this is optional, if not you can let the syrup brown a little, just a little and add a little more water so that it does not caramelize, so that the syrup is not caramelized.
