Rendang Jengkol, is one of the food menus that will experience meat, why not, when this food which has a very strong smell is transformed into very delicious food without the smell of meat sticks being very tempting.

Today I will cook this menu Rendang Jengkol, a family recipe. I will try to give this recipe in a simple way and it will be very easy to prepare. But first, Tama, I will prepare all the ingredients, most of which come from the yard. And the main ingredient is jengkol fruit, and I also got this from my own garden. There are two types of jengkol, rice jengkol and elephant jengkol, and the jengkol that will be used on the menu today is the "elephant" type of jengkol which has a larger size than rice jengkol.

Prepare all the ingredients below!
Material :
- 1 kg jengkol
- 3 coconuts, take 500 thick coconut milk and 1.5 liters of thin coconut milk
- 4 lime leaves
- 1 sheet of turmeric leaf
- 3 lemongrass stalks, bruised
- Salt to taste
- 100 ml cooking oil
Jengkol rendang seasoning:
- 100 grams of red onion
- 50 grams of garlic
- 250 grams of large red chili
- 1 ounce Chilli curly
- 6 cm galangal
- 10 hazelnuts
- 5 cloves
- 2 grains of cardamom
- 5 bay leaves
How to make :
- Peel the jengkol skin then soak the jengkol overnight until the sap is reduced
- Then boil jengkol with enough water until soft and then drain.
- Grind or finely mash the rendang seasoning and set aside.
- Split the jengkol into two parts and then crush it one by one to make the texture softer.
- Heat oil, saute ground spices until fragrant.
- Pour the jengkol that has been split and crushed then pour the thin coconut milk.
- Provide lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, bay leaves, and pandan leaves then pour into the sauce. Bring to a boil.
- Then cook over medium heat, stirring until smooth until the gravy is reduced and oily.
- Turn off the fire. Tadaaaaaaa.... "Rendang Jengkol" is ready to be served.
