The Food Diary Game | Season 3 | November 9th - 2021 | sfcharity50pc | #Club75 | Sweet "Arepitas"

Hi, dear Steemians and SteemFoodies!

It's my DAY 9 n the Third Season of the Food Diary Game. It's Tuesday, and I am still determined to use the leftovers, to free up space in the fridge.

I share this post in English, from the #SteemFoods community, led by @steemitfoods and @alikoc07 on the occasion of the Third Season of the Food Diary Game, now promoting Club5050, #Club75 and Club100.

50% of the rewards from this post will go to @sf-charity, in order for me to help more families benefit from medicine and food.

I have joined #Club75. Have you? Learn everything about it HERE: STEEMFOODS X CLUB75 | #club75 Tag Is Ready To Use! What Are The Rules Of The #club75 Tag?, so you can, join in!

It's easy to learn if you qualify for #Club75. You only need to check your wallet activity during the last 60 days. Also, the amount of Steems you have withdrawn during those 60 days multiplied by 3 is the minimum amount you must have powered up during those 60 days (2 calendar months).

My food-day started early, as always, with a cup of black coffee, hot and no sugar. I didn't know by then I was ready to enter #Club75. You can see the -5050 there.

I served sweet arepitas (little fried arepas) with leftover tuna salad and grated cheese.

I didn't have any cheese.

To prepare these arepitas, you will need

  • 1 cup of corn flour
  • 1/4 cup of wheat flour (all-purpose flour)
  • 2 cups of water
  • 1/4 cup of sugar
  • Pinch of salt
(my mother used to put sweet anise, but I ran out)
To cook the arepas, you need very hot oil. You can make the arepas as thin and thin as you like; you can see mine in the GIF below.

They cook very fast. As soon as you see them turn into a bomb, flip them over and in 20 seconds, they are ready.

At 2 p.m. I baked chicken thighs for lunch. I used capers, crushed garlic, salt, white wine, olive oil, and freshly ground black pepper to season the chicken; then I put it on a bed of vegetables and spread olive oil ove it.

The chicken cooked in the oven x 1 hour, at 300 °F.

I served it with rice & noodles and leftover salad from yesterday's lunch.

It was delicious. Our stomachs were full, so we did not have any dessert, but we did have our afternoon coffee at 5 p.m. or so.

After a couple of hours, I kept going through the fridge, to see which leftovers should be given a holy digestion. Some things ended up in Britzie and Chelita's (our dogs) food pot. I salvaged some cream. I threw it in the blender with chocolate powder and powdered milk. This was the result.

I kept it in a container, to eat it for dessert tomorrow.

image.png

With what I had left, I made a couple of chocolate shakes, and we had them for dinner, or rather "as" dinner, because then we didn't eat anything else. Just tea.

Our big cups of tea.

As always, I wish you all the best. And hopefully I will see you tomorrow on my next entry, and yours.
